Charity Bowling

We welcome the High School and Middle School to the 2015 cross-country season.

Life, like cross-country is a series of inspirational possibilities.  Cross-country reinforces within these young men the power integrity and commitment to realize and shape the goals that they create.  If these young men can find meaning in running then what can't they do in life?  If they can take a cold rainy day at the Green Bay Southwest Invite and turn it into a momentous occasion then truly they are empowered young men who can create any future they wish.  This sport is more than about one's aerobic capacity and ability to run fast, its about overcoming fears and circumstances that they have no control over, committing to something greater than themselves, honoring their word and following through.

Our sixth annual bowling event is an activity developed to help break down the barriers between athletes, parents and coaches while raising money for the cross-country program and a worthwhile charity.  The event starts on Friday at 5:30 on August 28th at Fox Valley Lanes in Neenah.  Participants will meet at 5:30 in the banquet room at Fox Valley Lanes.  Spaghetti and drinks will be served and participation fees will be collected at the entrance to the banquet hall.  Athletes of various grade levels will be divided into different teams giving student-athletes the chance to get know each other as they participate in two games of bowling.  Parents, family members and alumni who choose to participate will also be put into teams.  Like with the athletes, this will give family members a chance to get to know other parents and family members on the squad.  Coaches will have a chance to visit with the respective teams as they bowl. The evening will end between 7:00-7:30 giving participants an opportunity to enjoy the rest of their Friday evening before getting a good night's rest before the West Bend Challenge Meet on Saturday.

The cost of each participant is $10.00 dollars. Participation fees will pay for the food; two games of bowling (Including shoes) and ten percent of the profits of the evening will go to a charity to be named by the team.  The rest of the money will be used to fund uniforms, supplement Camp Onaway, and pay for team supplies, equipment and fitness equipment.

Please have your son inform the coaching staff if you will be attending or contact coach Morgen at jmorgen@neenah.k12.wi.us .  Look forward to seeing you.

Sincerely,
